ST. CHARLESYvonne "Bonnie" Bonita Garrison, 99 of St. Charles, died Sunday, May 17, 2015 at St. Charles Assisted Living.Bonnie was born December 10, 1915 in Marion, IA to William and Leah (Thompson) Mohler. Their family moved to Minnesota when Bonnie was young and she graduated from high school in Rochester. Bonnie was united in marriage to Leslie H. Garrison on February 5, 1937 in Osage, IA and they raised six children. A lifelong farmer, Bonnie was strong-willed, determined, patient, and honest. She taught Sunday school for many years at Golden Hill Baptist Church and had a very deep faith. Bonnie enjoyed reading the newspaper and the Bible, planting flowers, watching The Sound of Music, cooking, and sewing. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family. Her bed was always meticulously made and she never lost her sense of humor. She'll be missed by many.Survivors include her son, Leslie "Jim" Garrison, Jr. of St. Charles; daughters, Bernice (Larry) Gathje of Peterson and Mary Jane Garrison of Pine River; son-in-law, Wayne Nisbit 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie; 3 daughters, Billie Boros, Beverly Morris, and Kathy Nisbit; 2 grandsons, Leslie Boros and Bobby Joe Kriehn; and all 8 of her siblings.The family would like to thank the St. Charles Assisted Living and Seasons Hospice for their love and care.Visitation will be held from 5-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service in St. Charles. Funeral service will be 2pm, Thursday, May 21 at Victory Baptist Church in Rochester with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Dan Mohler will officiate.
