St. Charles, William David “Pete” Glover, 80 of St. Charles died Sunday morning April 20th at Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles. Pete was born June 6, 1922 in Stewartville to Oscar and Frances (Johnstone) Glover. He was raised in Chatfield and graduated from High School there. Pete and June Hall were married October 29, 1944 in St. Paul. They lived in White Bear Lake for a year, then in Chatfield for 7 years. Pete and June then made their home in St. Charles for the majority of their married life. Pete was a Lineman for Bell Telephone Company in St. Charles and Chatfield for many years. He was widely known and loved by the youth of St. Charles. He was active in community and civic events; including Lions Club where he served as Tail Twister for many years. He also enjoyed golfing and spending time at the St. Charles Golf Course. He greatly enjoyed his Canadian fishing trips with Doc Hawk. Pete served on the Winona County Fair Board and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife June, three sons; Don (Carol) Glover of White Bear Lake, Tom Glover (Renee Plass) of Lewiston, and Jim Glover (Sharon Kovaleski) of Utica,, a daughter Sue (Virgil) Vickerman of White Bear Lake, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and a brother Bob (Marlys) Glover of St. Charles. His parents preceded him in death. There will be a Funeral Mass 2PM Wednesday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Rev. James Callahan officiating. Burial will follow at the Chatfield Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Tuesday and noon until 1:30 PM Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Home’s – St. Charles Chapel. There will be a Rosary recited at 4:30 PM and a time of sharing at 8M Tuesday at the funeral home.
