William "Bill" E. Gile, 49, died Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at Winona Community Memorial Hospital following a two year battle with cancer. Bill was born June 22, 1958, in Winona, MN to Bert and Barbara (Czaplewski) Gile. Bill had worked for Sugar Loaf Ford as a mechanic, former bar manager for the V.F.W. in Winona and had worked for Wincraft. Bill was a collector of World War memorabilia and an avid sportsman. He was a member of The Red Men Club, Eagles Club and S.A.S.S.Survivors include a son, Jesse of Winona, MN; his parents, Bert and Barb Gile of Winona, MN; sisters, Barbara Jean (Eric) Hefte of Caledonia, MN and Peggy Ann Falk of Eden Prairie, MN; brothers, Greg (Tracy) Gile of Peterson, MN and Bert (Sabrina) Gile of Winona, MN; and several nieces and nephews. Bill will be fondly remembered and missed by all his friends who knew him as "Weasel".A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2007, at noon at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Goodview Chapel with Deacon James Welch officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery in Winona. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8:00pm and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
