William "Bill" Ludebeck

August 20, 1959 — April 7, 2025

William “Bill” Ludebeck, passed away on April 7, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on August 20, 1959, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, he was the son of William Jr. and Peggy (Mann) Ludebeck.

Bill graduated from Elkhorn High School and served his country by joining the Air Force, where he proudly served from 1980 to 1983 before being honorably discharged. For 37 years, he called Mosher Veterans Home in La Crescent his home, where he found companionship among fellow veterans. In November of 2024, he moved to St. Charles Assisted Living, where he quickly made many friends, despite his naturally solitary disposition.

Bill was known for his dry sense of humor and his love for keeping up with the news. He had a passion for playing around with electronics—whether it was iPads, laptops, or radios, he could often be found tinkering or catching up on current events. While he faced challenges with mental health throughout his life, those who knew him appreciated his unique perspective on life. He may have kept to himself, but he certainly left an impression on those who took the time to know him.

He is survived by his brother, Robert Ludebeck and his nephew, Cody Ludebeck.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William and Peggy.

Bill will be laid to rest with a private burial at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Elkhorn, WI.
