Wesley Majerus

Wesley R. Majerus, 78, of St. Charles died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at his home.He was born January 31, 1931 in Altura to Louis and Gertrude (Hayertz) Majerus. Wes graduated from St. Charles High School in 1949 and served in the US Army from 1952 - 1954. He and LaVonne Christenson were married on September 4, 1954 in St. Charles. They made their home in Winona until returning to St. Charles to live in 1958. Wes worked for Federal Bakery in Winona, as a service attendant for the St. Charles Standard Station, Crenlo Company of Rochester, as a delivery person for Culligan and as a farm worker for Hubbard Turkey Farms. In his retirement he worked as a custodian for the St. Charles School District. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and St. Charles Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing on the lake during summer vacations and wood carving. He supported the Minnesota Twins and Vikings and enjoyed watching all of his grandchildren in sports and school activities.Wes is survived by his wife LaVonne "Boots" of St. Charles, four children: Barbara (Daniel) Dalenberg of South Windsor, CT; Dean (Kayone) Majerus, Jayne (Tim) Ask and Gary (Michelle) Majerus all of St. Charles, 12 grandchildren; Daniel & Paul Dalenberg, Reece and Ryan Majerus, Rachel Nachreiner, Chris Ask, Rebecca, Michael & Lindsay Majerus, Shayla Oredson, Katie Majerus and Mitchell Oredson, two brothers, Luverne (Jean) Majerus of St. Charles and David (Vicki) Majerus of Marshfield, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Gertrude, sisters Merle Haack and Darlene Majerus.A Funeral Mass will be 11AM Monday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in St. Charles with the Reverend James F. Callahan officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-6 PM Sunday at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles. They may also call one hour before services at the church.
