Wayne Knoll

St. Charles Wayne Charles Knoll, 80, of St. Charles and formerly of Utica, died Wednesday morning, November 20th at Golden Living Center in St. Charles. Wayne was born December 24, 1932 on the family farm south of Utica. He attended school in Utica and St. Charles. Wayne served in the United States Army from 1953-55, stationed in Alaska. He and Marie Kramer were married August 15, 1958. They made their home in Utica. Wayne was a truck driver and drove for Charles Knoll Trucking, St. Charles Condensing Plant, Hubbard Foods, Simmons, and Jerome Foods, retiring in 1997. He entered Sunrise Cottages of Rochester in 2003, moving to the Golden Living Center in 2006. He was a member of St. Charles American Legion and the First Presbyterian Church of Utica. Survivors include his wife Marie, three daughters; Deb (Mike) Moore of St. Charles, Deanna (Tom) Tollin of St. Charles and Darla Smith of Hillsboro, OR, seven grandchildren; Megan Moore (Toby Oshiro), Jason (Ashley) Polzin, Jyll Polzin, Jessica Korb, Janel (Aaron) Fisher, Amanda Korb and Jadyn Smith, four great-grandchildren plus one on the way, a brother Gerald "Skip" Knoll of Elgin and a sister Sharon (Mike) Luedtke of Winona. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Bonnie Warren and a brother Roy Knoll. Funeral Services will be 11AM Monday at Hoff Funeral Service in St. Charles with the Reverend Tim Gerarden officiating. A reception will follow at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Utica. Friends may call from 4-7 PM Sunday and one hour before the services on Monday at the funeral home.
