Wayne Hopf

Wayne G. Hopf, 63, died Sunday, January 18, 2009, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. Wayne was born January 10, 1946, in Wabasha, MN, to Gordon and Delores (Wenger) Hopf. Wayne married Nancy Wick in Winona, MN, on September 11, 1971. Wayne and Nancy had lived in Winona for five years where he worked for Fibrite in Winona. They moved to Rushford while Wayne continued working for Fibrite and retired after 20 years of service. Following his retirement, Wayne had worked for Riverside Electronics in Rushford. Wayne loved his dogs, going fishing, partying with family and friends, and playing Bingo.Survivors include his wife, Nancy; three sisters, Barb (Robin) Lindfords of Lake Crystal, MN, Pat Weinereich of Fridley, MN, and Nancy Carmen of Omaha, NE; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Danny.A celebration of Wayne's life will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2009, at 6:00pm, at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel with funeral celebrant Douglas Hansen officiating. Spring interment will take place in Rushford Lutheran Cemetery.
