Sennes, 78, of Houston, Minn. passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013, at Valley View Healthcare and Rehab in Houston.Wayne was born on October 4, 1935, in La Crosse, Wis. to Art and Olive (Mackey) Sennes of Hokah, Minn. He was baptized and confirmed at Hokah United Methodist Church. Wayne attended school in Hokah, Minn. and graduated from Houston High School. Wayne served in the U.S. Army in the communications dept. and was stationed in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1957. Wayne married Judy Hermanson on February 21, 1959. They were later divorced. Wayne farmed with his father a couple of years and then became a semi-truck owner and operator, hauling long distance grain for three years. He was employed by Gateway Transportation for eight years. He and Judy operated, 'Wayne and Judy's Bar' in Hokah for fifteen years. Wayne enjoyed trips with friends to Canada, moose hunting, and elk hunting out west. He was an avid horseman, raising and training many fine quarterhorses. Wayne also owned a farm near Caledonia before his illness. He was a member of the Hokah Commercial Club, Hokah American Legion, Rod and Gun Club, and the Triple R Saddle Club. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Charles Rank, and a nephew, Chuck Rank.He is survived by his children: Jeff (Laurie) Sennes of Hokah, Jim (Theresa) Sennes of Rochester, Minn., Angie (Tom) Wilson of La Crescent, Minn. and Ted Sennes of Houston; grandchildren: Tommy Sennes of La Crescent, Tanner, Kiara, Haley and Sadie Sennes of Rochester, Minn., Alexa, Jon and Sam Wilson of La Crescent, Minn.; sisters: Donna Jean Rank, and Sharon (Paul) Wheaton, both of Houston; and by nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be a memorial service for Wayne at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 25, at the Hokah United Methodist Church in Hokah, Minn. with the Rev. Mark Bengston officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Hokah with Military Honors by the Hokah American Legion. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Houston and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the Church.
