RUSHFORD, MINN. - Warren R. "Bud" Miller, 79, of Rushford, died Thursday, January 13, 2005, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. He was born on February 23, 1925, in LaCrosse, Wis. To Harry and Mabel (Kenny) Miller. He was raised in West Salem, Wis. And graduated from West Salem High School. He served as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corp 456 Bomb Squadron during WWII. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in education from LaCrosse State Teachers College in LaCrosse, Wis., and received his master's degree from the University of Colorado in Greeley Colorado. Bud moved to Rushford in 1948. On December 30, 1950 he married Nina Christianson in West Salem, Wis. Bud was a Teacher, Counselor, Principal, Golf Coach, Athletic Director and Student Activities Director in the Rushford School District. He was a member of the Rushford Lutheran Church where he was Past-president of the congregation and member and Past-commander of the Murphy - Johnson American Legion Post in Rushford. His favorite pass-times were playing golf and cribbage. Bud is survived by his wife, Nina; three sons: Bill (Joyce) Miller of Rushford, Bob Miller of Richfield, Minn. and Dave Miller of Isanti, Minn.; six grandchildren: Mark (Jenny), Michael (Naomi), Amanda, Alyssa, Ryan and Cassey; and one sister: Marilyn (Dick) Davis of Chicago, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2005, at Rushford Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Watson officiating. Burial will be in the Rushford Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. In Lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to be directed to the Eagles Cancer Telethon.
