Warren Munson

HOUSTON, MINN. - Warren D. Munson, 62, of Houston, Minn. died on Saturday, May 9, 2009, at the VA Hospital in Madison, Wis. Warren was born on March 15, 1947, in Ada, Minn. to Andrew and Mildred (Gustafson) Munson. He was raised in the Mentor, Minn. area, and graduated from Mentor High School. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. On June 20, 1970, Warren married Joan Runningen at South Ridge, Minn. He lived most of his married life in the Houston area with the exception of living ten years in Fort Worth Texas. Warren and Joan moved back to Houston in 2005. Warren worked as an over the road truck driver for various companies including his own. His interests included Country Music and old cars. Warren is survived by his wife, Joan; two sons: Darin Munson of Fort Worth, Texas and Keith (Jen) Munson of Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; one daughter, Tamara Munson of Fort Worth, Texas; three grandchildren: Emma, Amelia, and Kance; and four brothers: Terry (Judy) Munson of Houston, Minn. Wayne Munson of Minneapolis, Minn., Douglas (Susie) Munson and Trafton (Randi) Munson both of Fertile, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dennis Munson. There will be a memorial service for Warren at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston with the Rev. Lane Zaffke officiating. Burial will be in the Silver Creek Cemetery in rural Houston. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Houston Chapel.
