Warren E. Casey, aged 78, of Fountain City, WI, passed away at home on May 12, 2024. Warren was born in Chicago, IL, on October 14, 1945. Warren spent his youth in Chicago and Glenview, Illinois, and attended college at Southern Illinois University where he met his wife. Faith and Warren married in Rockford, Illinois on June 14, 1969. He graduated from SIU in 1970.
Warren was a hard working, fun loving family man. Warren and Faith settled in Glenview, Illinois, and had four children, Jana, Rich, Jim, and Dave.
Warren began his career at the Chicago Tribune, and worked in advertising at News Voice and Treasure Chest/Vertis. Warren served on the board of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Glenview, and was active in local civic organizations and clubs. He retired from the advertising industry in 2002.
Following his “first” retirement, Warren started his own business, Your Home Inspection Company, and was a proud member of the American Society of Home Inspectors. He continued this work until 2015, when he and Faith moved to rural Fountain City, Wisconsin to live closer to their kids and grandkids, Joe and Cal. By moving closer they were able to attend their baseball, football, hockey games and concerts. Warren and Faith loved hosting family for big holidays and small gatherings. He maintained an active interest in the work and social lives of his kids and grandkids. He knew his kid’s friends, who also adored him.
While their kids were younger, he enjoyed time with his family at the extended family cabin on Lauderdale Lakes in Wisconsin. Warren was an active woodworker, and enjoyed building pieces for the homes of loved ones. He was an active reader, and was often listening to books while he worked. Warren was meticulous with his work and his home, and that care was apparent to all he interacted with. One of Warren’s more recent hobbies was painting, primarily watercolors. He loved all the dogs that came along in his later life, most recently their dog Ruby.
Warren always sent his loved ones out the door with “Be safe, be happy.”
He is survived by his wife, Faith, and children Jana Casey Brinkman (Bruce Brinkman), Richard Casey, James Casey (Carrie Dailey), and David Casey (Emily Kurash Casey). Warren was a proud grandfather to Joseph Brinkman (Claire) and Callum Brinkman. He also leaves behind his siblings: April Casey, Bobette Fluent, Judy Casey, John Casey, and Jennifer Casey.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents, John and Maxine Casey, and his brothers, Patrick, Mark, and Robert Casey.
A memorial service to celebrate Warren’s life will be held on Friday, May 17 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 am, with remarks and memories at 11:00 am. Family, friends, and community members are welcome to pay their respects and share memories.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Warren’s honor to the Minnesota Marine Art Museum (https://mmam.org/donate) where he was an active volunteer and especially enjoyed giving out cookies on Seasonal Saturdays.
