Houston,MN Wallace "Wally" David Stanley Senn, 83, died Friday, February 3, 2006 at Franciscan Skemp Health Care Center in LaCrosse, WI. Wally was born June 11, 1922 in Mound Prairie Township, Houston County, MN to Andrew and Alice (Gstalder) Senn. He married Ruby Beardmore on June 26, 1948 in Caledonia, MN. She preceded him in death on May 31, 1979. Wally served in the U. S. Army during WWII serving in the European Theater. Wally began his working career farming and then worked in feed sales. He also worked maintenance and security at Allis Chalmers and Pyroil Industries in LaCrosse, WI. Wally liked to keep active and in his retirement he enjoyed fencing for family and friends. Wally had also been the caretaker of the Mound Prairie Cemetery and Bush Valley Baptist Church. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Caledonia. Wally had been a resident of Valley View Nursing Home for the past four months, leaving many good friends behind. Survivors include his 5 children, Sandra (Robert) Lubinski of Fountain City, WI, Karen (Craig) Hoecherl of Anoka, MN, Donna Kurtz of Caledonia, MN, Marsha Senn of Houston, MN and Gary (Rachel) Senn of LaCrescent, MN; eleven grandchildren, Letitia (Todd) Lemay, Alicia Hoecherl, Dawn Coleman, Diana (Rich) Zibrowski, David Coleman, Jerry Kurtz, Cheri Meil, Carli Meil, Philip (Michelle) Meil, Sara (Paul) Wagner and Andrew Senn; fourteen great-grandchildren, Kimber Meil, Phillip, Ezra and Kekoa Novak, Candice, Alex and Kaitlyn Rottman, Taylor, Mason and Tia Wagner, Anthony Coleman, Mackenzie and Troy Zibrowski and Dylan Meil; two sisters, Evangeline Voigt of Rochester, MN and Marilyn Hahn of Spring Grove, MN; one brother, Harold (Elayne) Senn of Watertown, WI; and life long best friend, Harold Van Gundy. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruby, two brothers, Everett and Kenneth, son -in- law, Donald Coleman and special friend, Dorothy Mueller. Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at 10:00am at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston, MN. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Caledonia, MN. Friends may call on Tuesday at Hoff Funeral Home - Houston Chapel from 5-8:00pm and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
