Vivian Phyllis Rose, 96, of St. Charles, passed away with her daughter, Judy, by her side, Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Grandview Care Center in Blair, Wis. She was born on May 8, 1920 in Dover to Cyrus and Myrtle (Meyers) Calhoun. On September 16, 1938, she married Hugh "Shorty" Rose and together they raised their family on the farm in St. Charles. She spent much of her life working in the home and on the farm, but took other jobs at Libby's Canning Factory, Camera Arts, and Crenlo to help when needed. Vivian was an active member of Dover United Methodist Church her entire life. She was a part of the UMW, Olmsted Auxillary group, homemakers, Piecemakers, and other various quilting groups. She was a great quilter, painter and wood-carver. She also enjoyed calligraphy, geneology, candle-making, and writing. She enjoyed sewing, playing guitar and singing. Vivian is survived by her daughters, Jeneyene Sitts and Judy (Jim) Ziegeweid; grandchildren, Michelle (Michael) Reels, Jeff (Karri) Sitts, Stephen (Karen) Ziegeweid, Adam (Beth) Ziegeweid, Allison (Scott) Wright, and Nancy (Paul) Winey; 14 great-grandchildren; and special nieces and nephews, Bev (Dean) Norvet, Curt (Mary) Connaughty, and Gary (TJ) Connaughty. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Viva Connaughty, and son-in-law, Larry Sitts. A funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2017 at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service, St. Charles, with Heather E. Klason officiating.
