Virginia Mae Prudoehl

Virginia Mae Prudoehl, 92 of Lewiston, MN died Friday June 1, 2012 at Lake Winona Manor surrounded by her loving family.Virginia was born April 17, 1920 in Dunn County, North Dakota, to Lilly and Fred Schettler. She later moved to Minnesota where she graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1939. She met her husband, Emil Prudoehl of Lewiston at a dance and the two were married in 1943. She joined Emil on his family farm just north of Lewiston where she lived and worked for more than 60 years. A mother of four, Virginia was a soft spoken yet hard working woman who had a quiet but effective way of getting her point across. She had many creative talents including sewing, knitting and crocheting. Virginia was also a gifted musician and could play several instruments including the piano and Hawaiian guitar. She enjoyed flower gardening and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a baptized dedicated servant of Jehovah, who served faithfully as one of Jehovah's Witnesses until her death. Virginia is survived by her children: Marguerite (Robert) Peterson of Tallahassee, FL, Joan (James) Dembraski of Rollingstone and Randy (Linda) Prudoehl of Lewiston; eight grandchildren: Ingala, Elesha, April, Lance, Angela, Brianna, Cody and Kylie; three great-grandchildren: Amaelie, Breckyn and Troy; and her twin sister Katherine Schettler of Winona. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, her parents, three siblings: Betty Brommerich, John "Jack" Schettler and Westly Schettler; and a son: Wayne Prudoehl.Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service in Lewiston and also one hour prior to the memorial service. Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 8 at 7pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Winona.
