St. Charles, Virginia C. Klassen, 93, of St. Charles died Tuesday evening March 23rd at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Virginia was born June 20, 1910 in New York to William and Nellie (Banfield) Bracken. She and Edward Roach were married, he later died. On August 16, 1951 Virginia and Theodore "Ted" J. Klassen were married in Maybrook, NY. The couple farmed near Plainview. From 1974-1981 they spent much of their time in Texas. In 1981 they moved to St. Charles. Ted died in 1989. She entered St. Charles Assisted Living this past fall. Virginia was devout Catholic and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and St. Rita's Unit. She enjoyed reading western novels, doing crossword puzzles and caring for her plants. Survivors include two children, Virginia F. "Freddie" Tice of Seguin, TX and Theodore "Toby" (Gail) Klassen of St. Charles, two stepchildren, Margaret (Melvin) Kramer of Austin and Jim (JoAnn) Klassen of Utica, a daughter-in-law Marilyn Roach of Eyota, 26 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, a sister Mary Cawein of Campbell Hall New York. In addition to her husbands Edward and Theodore she was preceded in death by a son Ed Roach, a granddaughter, Nancy Sheehan, twin grandsons, two brothers and a sister. A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Saturday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Rev. James F. Callahan officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joachim Cemetery in Plainview. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Friday and 9-10 AM Saturday at Hoff Funeral Home's ? St. Charles Chapel. There will be a Rosary
