On January 20, 2018, after a three-month illness, Virginia Jean Rupprecht, 98, of Lewiston, was called to her Heavenly Home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to be reunited with family and friends who were waiting for her. She died at Whitewater Health Services in St. Charles, Minn. She was born on September 8, 1919 to William and Blanche (Richards) Kahring in St. Charles. She graduated from St. Charles High School and later went on to Winona Normal School for teacher's training. She taught in various one-room school houses in the Rochester, Plainview, and St. Charles area and was "teacher" to many students throughout her life. On June 14, 1941 she married Hilbert (Hub) Rupprecht at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lewiston. They farmed near Lewiston most of their married life. Her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids were the joy of her life. Her faith was very important to her and she was a member at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church her entire married life. She also enjoyed working jig-saw puzzles, folding laundry, reading, cooking, and telling stories about the old days (some stories she devised just for the joy of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.). She worked puzzles and read until just before she became ill. She was preceded in death by her beloved Hub in 2011; parents; two brothers, Kermit and Billy Kahring; three sisters, Phyllis (John) Putzier, Olive (Dean) Mitchell, and Thersa (Hugh) Vermilya; sister-in-law, Mabel (Nick) Braun; brothers-in-law, Elmer (Lucille) Ruppecht, Kenneth Rupprecht, and Roger Rupprecht. She is survived by her two children, David (Kathy) Rupprecht of Lewiston and Nancy (Bob) Baird of Merritt Island, FL; grandchildren, Tammy (Glen) Haag of Lewiston, Chad (Angie) Rupprecht of Stroudsburg, PA, Roxanne Baird of California, and Dan Baird of Michigan; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Leanna, Carter, Connor, Ethan, Cassie, and Andrew; sister, Joanne Giles of Eyota; sisters-in-law, Mareta Rupprecht of St. Charles and Patricia Rupprecht of Wesport, OR; and many nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 28, 2018 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lewiston with Reverend Michael Lindemann and Reverend Paul Kuckhahn officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m., until the time of the funeral. Burial will be held at a later date. Please share a memory of Virginia and view her video tribute when it becomes available at
