Violette Johnson

November 24, 1930 — February 27, 2011

Violette Thelma Johnson ("Vi") 80, of Houston, died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at her residence in Mound Prairie. Vi was born November 24, 1930 in Sacramento, CA to Robert and Thelma (Ross) Fraley. She graduated from Sacramento High School and on February 20, 1949 married Charles Lloyd Johnson, son of Helen Hazel Jorgenson (Vix) from Houston. While her children were growing up, Vi worked part time later holding administrative and accounting positions in retail and finance in Sacramento and Santa Ana. In 2004 she and her daughter moved to Houston settling into her new home on the Adolph Jorgenson farm in Mound Prairie. She was an avid flower gardener, an award winning seamstress, and interior decorator with a passion for detail to create a warm and inviting atmosphere in true authentic old country style. Her house on the farm in Mound Prairie was the local gathering place for many enjoyable events and scene of frequent euchre games running late into the night. She is survived by her daughter, Susanne "Susie" Johnson of Houston and son, Robert "Bob" (Karen) Johnson of San Jose, CA and three grandchildren, Erik, Kristian and Paul Johnson. The family wants to thank relatives and dear friends who provided such kind support and friendship during her years in Minnesota and especially for always being there to lend assistance as Vi's health began to fail. The family would also thank Dr. Franta and the Hospice of St. Francis for the wonderful care she received and Father Asher for the special visits during her final days. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994 and her only sibling Jacquelyn Lesher.Private family services to celebrate Vi's life will be held. Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service - Houston Chapel is assisting the family. Please share a memory of Vi in her online guestbook at www.hofffuneral.com
