YUCATAN, MINN. ? Violet Vernetta (Bakke) Rostvold, 84, of Yucatan, Minn. Died Wednesday, January 18, 2006, at Valley View Nursing Home in Houston, Minn. Violet was born on June 4, 1921, to Clarence and Rose (Rassmusen) Bakke in the township of Amherst in Fillmore County, Minn. She attended Newburg and Mabel schools. She married Harley Rostvold on November 4, 1939, in Decorah, Iowa. She was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston. She is survived by her husband Harley; son, Neil of Yucatan, Minn.; Daughter-in-Law Diane of Yucatan, Minn.; six grandchildren: Michelle (Darin) Cole, Jodi (Mike) Kadinger, Tami (Chris) Schroeder, Rusty (Jill) Rostvold, Tiffany (Aaron) Wilcox, and Chad (Kim) Rostvold; and 11 great-grandchildren. Violet was preceded in death by her son, Larry, her parents, and her sister Phyllis. There will be a memorial service held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston with the Revs. Louise Stromberg and Lane Zaffke officiating.
