Violet Traff, 94 of Houston, died Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Valley View Healthcare in Houston.
Violet was born August 1, 1923 in Houston County to Oscar and Anna Gaustad. On September 27, 1941 she marries Lester Traff at the Houston Lutheran Church. Violet was taught the importance of hard work at the age of 13 and continued this strong work ethic throughout her life; all while raising two children and working several factory jobs. Violet and Lester farmed in the Looney Valley area until 1959 when they moved to Houston. She was a faithful member of Looney Valley Lutheran Church.
Violet and Lester enjoyed many activities together including, snowmobiling, traveling, riding motorcycle, dancing and playing cards. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynette (Howard) Solie; daughter-in-law, Sandy (Rick) Fitting; three grandchildren, Melissa (John) Robison, Pamela (Michael) Eddy and Mike (Gail) Traff; twelve great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lillian (Matt) Collins and Aggie Mireau.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; her son, Adrian; parents; two brothers, Odin & Jerry Gaustad; and two sisters, Gladys Rostad and Clara Ledebuhr.
Funeral Service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Looney Valley Lutheran Church with the Reverend Linda McPeak officiating. Visitation will be 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., Tuesday at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service - Houston and one hour prior to the service at church. She will be laid to rest at Silver Creek Cemetery.
