Viola Fohrman

St. Charles, Viola Catherine Fohrman, 93, of Dover died Monday morning December 6th at Whitewater Healthcare Center in St. Charles. She was born February 10, 1911 in Earling, Iowa to John and Martha (Appel) Wilwerding. Viola and Joseph Fohrman were married September 21, 1937 in Earling. They lived in Hutchin, Iowa until moving to Rochester to farm in 1949. In the summer of 1957 they moved to Dover to farm. Viola had a great love for her church, she belonged to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in St. Charles where she was also involved in St. Rita's Circle. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and family gatherings. Viola worked very hard with farm activity and enjoyed a good day of labor. Her husband Joe died in 1966. She moved to 'Have a Heart' Assisted Living in rural Utica three years ago. The past 1 ? years she has resided at Whitewater Healthcare Center. Survivors include eight children, Dennis (Sharon) Fohrman of Phoenix; Phyllis (Ron) Roessler of Eyota; Marjorie (Larry) Larsen of Fredericksburg, TX; Pat (Patti) Fohrman of Dover; David (Nancy) Fohrman of Chatfield; Mike (Bonnie) Fohrman of Chatfield; Colleen (John) Schmit of Eyota and Mark (Madonna) Fohrman of Dover, 34 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren with three more great-grandchildren arriving soon. A sister Elvira Zimmerman of Dennison, Iowa also survives. In addition to her husband, two daughters; Lucy and Mary, one son Charles and two great-grandchildren have preceded her in death. A Funeral Mass will be 10AM Friday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Rev. James Callahan officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Thursday and 8:30 ? 9:30 AM Friday at Hoff Funeral Home's ? St. Charles Chapel. There will be a Rosary recited at 4:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
