Vincent Ostrander

Vincent Michael Ostrander of Winona, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family at the age of 25, on February 20, 2024, after a life-long battle with cystic fibrosis. Vincent was born on September 27, 1998, in Winona, Minnesota to parents, Tyrrena and Michael. He graduated from Winona High School in 2017.

 One of Vincent’s favorite things to do with his Mom, Ryan and Tanner was to hang out in their backyard around the fire. Great times were had fishing with his Dad, Lori, and Tanner, whether the fish were biting or not. He spent countless hours crafting with Grandma and doing odd jobs with Grandpa. Grandma and Dewey were always there for playing games and talking life. Some of his best times throughout his entire life were playing and hanging out with his brother and his cousins. He loved big family gatherings where the food and the love were plentiful. Online gaming provided an escape and a way for him to connect with friends, near and far, when he couldn’t be with them in person.   Music was his greatest therapy, helping him cope with the many challenges he faced throughout his life. 

Vincent was so kind, and he had the best heart, always putting others before himself. He always tried to make everyone else feel comfortable, despite his own struggles. He was an absolute joy to be around and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Vincent is survived by his parents, Tyrrena and Ryan Johnson and Michael and Lori Ostrander, his brother and best friend, Tanner Ostrander, grandparents Jean Henderson and Linda (Dewey) Gotliebson, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. His life was also blessed with many furry friends, whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne “Buster” Henderson, Joan Ostrander, and Charles Shultz.

 A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview. There will be a time of sharing during the service, so please come with a favorite memory or story of Vincent to share.  Visitation will be noon until the time of the service.  Hoff Celebration of Life Center is assisting the family with arrangements.   www.hofffuneral.com.
