Verna M. Campbell, 91, of rural St. Charles, died Monday October 6, 2008 at Golden Living Center - Whitewater in St. Charles. Verna was born April 11, 1917 in Chatfield to Thomas and Margaret Biermann. She and Locksley Campbell were married on March 19, 1945 in St. Charles. The couple farmed in Saratoga Township of Winona County. Locksley died December 6, 1984. Before her marriage Verna cleaned homes and has been a farm homemaker since. She belonged to St. Charles United Church of Christ, the Clyde Royal Neighbors of America and the Ridge Homemakers. She enjoyed baking, sewing, needlework and making Teddy Bears. Verna loved to spend time with her family, especially her great-granddaughters. Survivors include her son Ron (Pat) Campbell of St. Charles, two grandchildren, Scott (Karri) Campbell of St. Charles and Michelle (David) Jones of Nesbit, Mississippi, three great-granddaughters Brianna, Hayley and Mallory, a brother Clifford (Elizabeth) Biermann and a sister Cleo Miller both of St. Charles. Funeral Services will be 11AM Thursday at St. Charles United Church of Christ with Pastor Jason Chamberlain officiating. Burial will follow in Fremont Scotch Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 - 8 PM Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles. They may also call one hour before services at the church.
