Verla Lou Miles, 91, of Winona, previously of Milwaukee, died Friday, August 26, 2011 at Sauer Memorial Home in Winona.Verla was born in Devon, Montana to Lloyd and Florence (Muffle) Blair on the family farm. After graduating from high school, she married Wayne Miles in Durand, WI. Verla is survived by her daughter, Pam Miles of Winona; granddaughter, Tiffany Vernon; grandson, Nathanial Vernon of Trempealeau, WI; great-grandchildren, Kailey (10) and Isaac (3); sisters, Joan, Ginger, and Carol.She had so many talents. A gifted seamstress for her family, she could reupholster furniture perfectly and remodel her home inside and out. Verla could also fix anything and loved to garden. She was a true animal lover and always took in any stray. Once, she had the fire department hang on the back of her pants so she could fish a kitten out of the sewer. All in all, she was quite a character who had 9 lives and treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Private family arrangements have been made.
