Vera H. Nelsen

Vera Helen Nelsen, 88, died Monday, November 26, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society in Mohall, ND. Vera was born in Albert Lea, MN, to Christopher and Lydia (Schwede) Hansen. Vera grew up and graduated high school in Tagus, ND. She moved to Rochester, MN, where she met and married Leland Nelsen. Vera worked at St. Mary's Hospital where she sterilized surgical instruments for several years until her retirement. Upon her husband's death, Vera moved to Minot, ND, and lived in the surrounding area until her passing. Vera enjoyed a good conversation, was an avid MN Twins and Vikings fan, and loved to play Bingo. Survivors include her brother, Melvin (Joyce) Hansen of Rochester, MN, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland, her parents, two brothers, Richard and Clayton, and three sisters, Mildred, Eletha and Elaine.
