RUSHFORD, MN - Valerie Ann Evenson, 63, of Rushford, MN died on November 27, 2018, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford.

Valerie Ann Severtson was born on August 8, 1955, in Rushford, MN to Oscar and Katherine (Sinclair) Severtson. She was raised in Money Creek, MN and was a 1973 graduate of Houston High School. She was a graduate of Winona Technical College. Valerie was united in marriage with Kenneth Evenson on June 12, 1976. She worked her entire career at the Winona County Veterans Service Office. She was active in the Inclusion Body Myositis Foundation. Valerie loved her family and took great pride in their achievements. She also loved her career and helping veterans in any way possible, travelling to see National parks across the country and her Scottish heritage were lifelong passions "Free Scotland". She had a smile that would touch the hearts of anyone who saw it. She will be missed immensely by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; three children: Megan (Ben) Schemensky of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Michael (Stephanie) Evenson of Rushford, and Matthew (Misty) Evenson of Granby, CO; eight grandchildren: Caygen, Kaleb, Michael Jr., Joseph, Kaelynn, Alexander, Jaidda, and Kenley; two siblings: Lorraine (Brad) Williams of Houston, MN, and John M. Severtson of LaCrosse, WI; her nieces Tanya (Jim) Nascak of Goodview, Kari (Rick) Horneck of Prosper, TX and Abbey Hammes of Holmen, WI; her mother-in-law Marian Evenson of Rushford, MN; and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law Carroll Evenson, two brothers: Roy Severtson and Baby Boy Severtson and her nephew John O. Severtson.

There will be a Celebration of Life service Sunday, December 2 at 5:30pm at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford with funeral celebrant, Vicki Nelson officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday.
