Troy Gene Schreiber, 53 of St. Charles, died peacefully at his home and surrounded by his family on Monday, July 1, 2024.
Troy was born April 9, 1971, in Willmar, MN to Joseph and Lois (Provencher) Schreiber. He graduated from Liberty High School in Liberty, Missouri. Troy had a lot of technical training throughout the years from General Motors. He worked as an auto body mechanic and was a jack of all trades.
His two children, Brittani and Lucas and grandson, Knox, meant the world to him and he loved time spent with family and friends. Troy also enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, music and guns. He was a member of the Rollingstone Gun Club and the Moonlight Meat Rubbers where he enjoyed smoking meats with good friends.
A motorcycle accident in 2016 changed the course of Troy’s life, but it didn’t change who he was. He was still Troy, and still had the same love of family, friends, music and so much else. Even though the last years of his life weren’t spent the way he pictured, he was still able to find so much enjoyment in life, mainly by being with the ones he loved.
Troy is survived by his children, Brittani Schreiber (Jovantae Hill) and Lucas Schreiber (Aspen Halbakken); his grandson, Knox Hill; parents, Joe and Lois Schreiber; two sisters, Amanda (Tracey) Stevens and Hally (Neil) Daley; grandfather, Kenneth Schreiber; nieces and nephews, Kaleb, Kennedy & Lauryn Stevens and Gabriel (Kalia) Daley and their son, Malcom; aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as many friends. Troy is also survived by his caretakers who became like family to him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Doris Schreiber and Marian & Elmer Provencher and uncle, Jay Provencher.
