Trampis Tex Cornwell, 55 of West Salem and formerly of Winona, died Thursday, September 26, 2024 at his home. Trampis fought a battle with depression that he just couldn’t win, despite the efforts and love of all those around him.
Trampis was born September 30, 1968 in La Crosse to Lawrence and Sharon (Unnasch) Cornwell. He graduated from Red Mountain High School in Mesa, AZ.
Most recently, Trampis was working as a truck driver, which he loved. 19 years ago, he met the love of his life, Nancy Myers. They were meant for each other and made many wonderful memories together. Trampis was a selfless and generous person, he loved horses and making people laugh, but his greatest love was his Lord God.
He is survived by his best friend and soulmate, Nancy; one daughter; seven grandchildren; parents, Sharon and Ken Spalding; siblings, Travis (Kathy) Cornwell, Kevin Spalding, Kim Spalding and Andy (Jackie) Spalding; nieces and nephews, Makinsey Vaughn, Justin (Jenny) Spalding, Kayla (Derek) Lager, Logan Spalding, Brandon Cornwell and Katie Pflughoeft; aunts and uncles, Sharon (Leonard) Buege, Donna Young, Darlene Wolter, Karen Kappauf-Cornwell and Randy (Pauline) Spalding as well as many great nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Cornwell; grandparents Laverne & Arlene Cornwell and George & Lydia Unnasch; sister, Shelly Spalding and many aunts and uncles.
A visitation will be 9 a.m., until the Funeral Service at 11 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church in Ridgeway with the Reverend Jason Threlkeld officiating. He will be laid to rest at Hiler Cemetery.
