Thomas Springer

Thomas Wiley “Tom” Springer, age 86, of Minnesota City, MN, died Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at St. Anne Extended Healthcare in Winona, MN.

Tom was born September 10, 1938, in Winona, the son of Roman and Rose (Klosowski) Springer. He was the 10th of 15 children. He graduated from Cotter High School in 1957. He married Nancy Galewski in 1959. He honorably served his country in the United States Marines and Navy for 20 years. He retired from the military to Winona, and worked for the Froedtert Malt Company for several years. Tom loved God, and was a Holy Spirit Christian. In 1996, he traveled with Nancy to Israel. They also went on several retreats throughout the years. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

Tom is survived by his wife, Nancy; children: Julie (Doug) Hinrichs of Minnesota City, Teresa (Tony) Ulbrech of Winona, and Thomas P. Springer of Minnesota City; grandchildren: Derek (Erin) Hinrichs, Chelsea (Adrian) Olson, Elizabeth Petitt, and John O. Ulbrech; and 6 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Christine Springer; and 14 siblings: Marion, James, Robert, Charles, Donald, Patricia, Rosalie, Barbara, Frank, Henry, Joan, Teresa, Gerald and John.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 11am at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Winona. Visitation will be held from 10-11am, prior to the service. Interment will be at a later date at Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery in Preston, MN.
