LEWISTONThomas Michael Conway, 74 of Lewiston, died Friday, September 5, 2014 at Winona Health.Tom was born November 21, 1939 in Winona to Armond and Helen (Kalmes) Conway. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1959 and enlisted in the United States Navy. He served from 1959 - 1961, stationed in the Philippines and Japan. He was a member of the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Department for 50 years, serving as captain, assistant chief and finally chief for 12 years. He was also a member of the Lewiston Ambulance for 10 years. Tom also owned and managed both Tom Conway Trucking and Tom Conway Sales Company where he would refurbish used fire trucks and sell new and used fire apparatus and equipment all over the country. He was a member of the Lewiston American Legion, Moose Club, Lewiston Sportsmen Club, Lewiston Jaycees, Lewiston Lion's Club, and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.Tom is survived by a sister-in-law, Pat Conway; nephew, Kevin (Lisa) Conway; niece, Kelly (Matt) Stark; great-nephews, Zach and Brad; great-niece, Kate; cousin, Ramona (nee Conway) Bauman; many cousins on the Kalmes side and many friends and neighbors throughout the Lewiston Community.He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Charles Conway.Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 13, 2014 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with the Reverend Glenn Frerichs officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m., until the time of Mass. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service - Lewiston is assisting with arrangements.
