HOFF FUNERAL HOMES - RUSHFORD CHAPEL 507-864-7771 RUSHFORD, MN - W. Thomas Gaskin, 75, of Rushford, died on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, in Rushford. Tom was born on January 31, 1933, in Viola, MN, to Walter T. and Dorothy (Mosher) Gaskin. He was raised in Eyota, MN, and graduated from Eyota High School. Tom served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He farmed in the Eyota, Fountain, and Rushford, MN areas, and worked at Fiberite and St. Theresa's University in Winona, MN. On August 11, 1995, Tom married Elene (Tacke) Bork. He was a collector of Tractors and enjoyed woodcarving. Tom was a quiet, honest and particular person. He will be dearly missed. Tom is survived by his wife, Elene; three sons: Ron Gaskin of Shakopee, MN, Randy (Sue) Gaskin of Bonner Springs, KS, and Russ (Bernadette) Gaskin of Washington D.C.; two daughters: Cheryl (Chris) Danubio of Blue Springs, MO, and Cindy (Dan) Dieterich of Johnsburg, IL; one step-son, Scott Bork of Fountain City, WI; three step-daughters: Sandy (Mike) Merth of Turtle Lake, WI, Susan (Ray) Kamrowski of Arcadia, WI, and Sherry (Paul) Sievers of Forest Lake, MN; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers: Gordon (Darlene) Gaskin of Arvada, CO, Bill (Paula) Gaskin of Red Wing, MN, and Fred (Carol) Gaskin of Ladue, MO; and two sisters: Liz Predmore of Rochester, MN, and Pat Moe of Anoka, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel in Rushford, MN with funeral celebrant John Wagenaar officiating. Burial will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
