Theressa A. Meyer

RUSHFORD, MINN. Theressa A. Meyer, 89, of Rushford died Wednesday, April 07, 2004, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford. She was born on March 12, 1915, to Andrew and Margaret (Stinson) Jonsgaard in Freemont Township. On October 18, 1938, she married Walter Meyer at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Hart, Minn. They farmed together until they retired to their home in Rushford. During their retirement years their favorite activity was taking their grandchildren fishing. Walter preceded her in death on February 4, 1985. Theresa enjoyed quilting, serving for others, crocheting, embroidery and playing cards. She especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved the their big hugs. Theressa is survived by one daughter, Arlene (Wayne) Wenzel of Rushford; one son, Wayne (Darlene) Meyer of Rushford; 8 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 14 great- grandchildren, 8 step-great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Joe Jonsgaard, Winona, Minn. and Roy Jonsgaard of Utica, Minn.; one sister, Seldie Bartelson of Winona, Minn. She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandson, 1 step-grandson, 5 sisters, and 3 brothers. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2004, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Hart, Minn. with the Rev. Frederick Buth officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. The family prefers memorials to be directed to St. Johns Lutheran Church in Hart.
