HOUSTON, MN - Therese "Jean" Peterson, 86, of Houston, MN died on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI.
Therese Jean Mormann was born on August 22, 1929, in La Crosse, WI to Herman and Mary (Truesdell) Mormann. She was raised in Pleasant Valley Township and graduated from St. Peter's High School in Hokah, MN. On September 7, 1949, she was united in marriage with Sherwood Dale Peterson at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Hokah. While raising her children, Therese lived in Hokah, Homer, Winona, Ridgeway and Money Creek, MN. She also did some daycare work during that time. After raising her children, she worked at Valley View Nursing Home in Houston for several years. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, embroidery, baking, a good movie, and most of all spending precious time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Therese was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Houston.
She is survived by three children: Cindy (David) Sather of Edmond, OK, Loren (Rhonda) Peterson of Waterloo, IA, and Rodney Peterson of Winona; and by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five children: Kathryn, Dale, Corinne, Sharon, and Adrian, and four siblings.
There will be a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Houston with the Rev. Pratap Reddy officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Hokah, MN. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Tuesday at the church.
