Terry Keith Busian passed away at his home after a prolonged illness on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. He was born April 19, 1926 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Bernard and Alice (Smith) Busian. After graduation from Dover High School, Dover, Minnesota in 1943 he immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He mustered at Farragut, Idaho and was received as crew on board the U.S.S. LST #1004. His served in the Pacific and Asia areas and was released after enlistment expired at San Diego in 1947. On November 13, 1948 he married his lifelong friend and love of his life Cleo Joanne Kisro, also of Dover. He farmed with his grandfather south of Dover until 1950 when he moved with Cleo south of St. Charles where he farmed the remainder of his life. Terry was an avid and skilled hunter, outdoors enthusiast, and devoted gun owner who was passionate about gun owner rights. He was a life member of the N.R.A. and American Legion. Horses and fishing were his hobbies. Terry, along with his wife, was an example of tenacious and unwavering work ethic. Although a hard worker, he took time out to enjoy his family and teach his children and grandchildren about interests as varied as making apple cider, boating and waterskiing on the Mississippi, fire arms use and safety, how to 'eagle eye' a good horse, knot tying, trapping gophers, attending county and state fairs, tobogganing and snowshoeing, swimming at Whitewater State Park, how to choose the best garden sweet corn, fixing a beef or pork roast, baiting and securing a fishing hook, and how to appreciate the many miracles of nature. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, along with a daughter Stephani (Paul) Price of Rochester, four sons, Tom of L.A., Brian of L.A., Dan (Tracy Holte) of Woodbury, MN, Scott (Darla Timm) of St. Charles; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, one step great-grandchild, one adopted great-grandchild; two sisters - Mary Hanenberger of Dover and Carolyn Busian of Dover, two nieces, and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews.
A special thank-you and heartfelt gratitude go to the wonderful people of Seasons Hospice who so wonderfully gave care and support to Terry and Cleo prior to Terry's passing. Donations made to the Hospice are appreciated.
