Terry Dean Henke, age 77, died at St. Anne’s in Winona on April 16, 2024, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

Terry was born October 8, 1946, to Alfred (Bud) and Betty Henke.  He enlisted and joined the United States Army.  After his retirement from the service, Terry went to work at Fiberite in Winona where he met Jackie. He went on to spend most of his career working at Wincraft. After retirement, he got a part time job at the Post Office in Rollingstone. This was by far his favorite job. He loved interacting with all of his customers. He was a patriot through and through and was willing to help anyone whenever and however he could.  His name will be etched on the hearts of many and the stories that those who knew him are a constant reminder of the kind and loving man he was.

Terry married the love of his life, Jackie, on November 7th, 1970.  They lived most of their life in Rollingstone, MN.  He loved coaching his children in baseball when they were young and continued to “coach” slow pitch softball for the boys as they grew up.   While living in St. Louis, Terry loved to be active in sports and coached soccer and baseball.  Terry enjoyed watching sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, the Minnesota Vikings, Boston Celtics, and really liked Tom Brady.

He is survived by a wonderful and loving family: daughter: Shelly Maas; sons: Brian Henke, Doug Henke, Tim (Roxanne) Henke; brothers and sisters: Marcus (Candy) Henke, Jerry (Ina) Henke, Allen (Valerie) Henke, Cheryl (Bob) Burg, Barb McIntyre, Jamie (Bob) Riggs, Rosemary (Randy) Larger, Robyn Huecker, and Jace (Dina) Rogeirs; and eight grandchildren (Mason, Austin, Kaj, Patience, Zayda, Espn, Emma, and one on the way) and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Jackie Henke, mother and father Alfred and Betty Henke and parents-in-law, Malven and Audre Noeske and brothers in-law Toby Noeske, Doug Noeske and Art Noeske.  Terry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He will be missed dearly.

A celebration of life will be held at the Winona Eagles Club on Saturday, April 27th at 12pm.
