Winona, MNSylvia Viola Adams, 86, died Saturday, June 25, 2005, at Lake Winona Manor in Winona, MN. Sylvia was born September 27, 1918 in Sault St. Marie, MI to John and Effie (Dunton) Wright. She married Stanley A. Adams on October 18, 1938 in Sault St. Marie, MI. Sylvia lived and worked as a homemaker and cook for various restaurants in Sault St. Marie, MI until her husband's death in 1966 when she moved to Winona. Sylvia had been a member of Union Presbyterian Church in DeTour Village, MI. She will be remembered for her warm personality and exceptional cooking skills, especially making donuts. While living in Winona Sylvia formed a treasured bond with her great-granddaughter, Lindsay.Survivors include her son, Maynard (Jan) Adams of Sault St. Marie, MI; daughters, Carol (David) Fort of Lewiston, MN and Sandra (Robert) Konings of DeTour Village, MI; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Oral O'Brien of Sault St. Marie, MI and Martha Johnson of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Stanley, two brothers, George and Everett, three sisters, Evelyn, Jennie and Alyne. Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at 11:00am at Hoff Funeral Homes - Burke Winona Chapel with Funeral Celebrant John Wagenaar officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. A graveside service and burial will take place on Saturday, July 2, 2005 at 2:00pm at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens in Pickford, MI.
