Sylvia Margaret Danuser, 87, of Winona, passed on peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, February 20, 2012, at Sauer Memorial Home. She was surrounded by the warmth and comfort of her loving family.Sylvia was born January 17, 1925, in Nodine, to Herman and Gertrude (Boettcher) Diekrager. After earning her high school diploma, Sylvia attended a local business college in preparation for a position at Winona National Bank, which would soon sponsor her in the Miss Winona beauty pageant.On March 16, 1952, Sylvia married Norris (Ned) Danuser of Galesville, WI. The two would have six loving children: Barbara (Stephen) Drazkowski of Winona; Carol (Philip) Bom of Lincoln, NE; Donna (Paul) Del Toro of Gilbert, AZ; William Danuser of Wausau, WI; Paul (Kellea) Danuser of San Tan Valley, AZ; and Steven (Julianne) Danuser of Cranston, RI. If motherhood was Sylvia's crown, its jewels were the births of her 14 grandchildren and five (soon-to-be six) great-grandchildren. Sylvia is survived by her brother Donald (Nyla), of rural Winona, and she was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Gertrude, and her sister, Dorothy (Ted) Inahara, of San Francisco, CA.Sylvia was a loving and giving person who always put the needs of others before herself. Sylvia's family would like to thank the entire staff of Sauer Memorial Home for the four years of dedicated care and fellowship they provided on a daily basis. They worked tirelessly to provide for Sylvia's physical and spiritual needs and ensured her comfort in her last years of life.
