Sue Carol Booth, 80 of Winona and formerly of Houston, died Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Lake Winona Manor.Sue was born February 7, 1934 in Yucatan to Carl and Christina (Furuseth) Halverson. She graduated from Houston High School. Sue married Kenneth Hegland on December 27, 1952 and together they had four children. Ken passed away in 1970. On November 19, 1973, she married Billy Booth and they spent many happy years together until his passing in 1992. Sue spent many years working in the banking industry, especially at Rushford State Bank. Following her retirement, she volunteered for the Sauer Healthcare and Rehab Auxiliary in the activities department. Sue enjoyed needlepoints and word searches, but one of her biggest prides was keeping track of all of her friends and families birthdays and anniversaries and sending cards.She is survived by two children, Kristi (Gary) Peterson of Bremerton, WA and Bryan (Deb) Hegland of Winona; four grandchildren, Sarah Peterson of Salem, OR, David (Jennifer Texley) of Tacoma, WA, Melissa (Dan) Hegland-Smith of Minneapolis and Ryan (Jade Borst) Hegland of Rochester; two great-grandchildren, Cormac Metcalfe and Teagan Smith; Jade's children, Greg & Sammy Borst; two brothers, Charles (Rita) Halverson of Reno, NV and CJ (Lois) Halverson of TN; and sister-in-law, Rosie Halverson of Pekin, IL.Sue was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; an infant daughter, Cynthia; infant son, Mark and a brother, Roger Halverson.There will be a prayer service at 5 p.m., Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview with the Reverend Mark Dumke officiating.
