Steve Kim Nowlan, 52, of St. Charles, died peacefully, Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at home under the care of his wife Renee, son Bob and daughter, Jana after a five and a half year battle with cancer. Steve was born August 25, 1959 in Winona to Bob and Pat (Rumpca) King. He graduated from St. Charles High School in 1977. On January 6, 1979, he married Renee Ellinghuysen at North Prairie Lutheran Church. He worked at Horseman Enterprises in Utica, King Lumber and then Camera Art/Herff Jones for 30 years. Steve enjoyed woodworking, sports, mowing lawn, his car and jeep, music, especially REO Speedwagon and watching concert DVD's. He also greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.He also loved socializing with anyone and everyone and his greatest gift was his sense of humor, which was enjoyed by all.Steve is survived by his wife, Renee; children, Bob (Jen) of Rochester and Jana of St. Charles; grandsons, Isaiah Nowlan & Michael Stangler; sister, Sue (Gary) Babcock of Lewiston; mother-in-law, Lois Ellinghuysen; and nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Kenneth Ellinghuysen.Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 26 at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles with the Reverend Steve McGinley officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Utica.
