St. Charles, Stephen Michael "Steve" Littlefield, 57, of St. Charles died Saturday, March 12, 2011 while at work in Eyota. Steve was born March 19, 1953 in Winona to James and Beverly (Feltes) Littlefield. He graduated from St. Charles High School in 1971 and later graduated from Winona Vo-Tech. On June 10, 1978 Steve and Katherine Veerkamp were married in St. Charles. Steve worked for Winona Industries for a short time then for Watlow Co. of Winona for 27 years. Currently he worked night shift for Kwik Trip Stores in Eyota and as a janitor St. Charles Public Schools. He was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, where he ushered and was involved in youth ministries and Men's Club. Steve had been active in Scouting and had a great love of history, teaching Civil War and St. Charles History to local youth. Steve lived a life of volunteering and community service. He loved to visit with his friends. Survivors include his wife Kathy, four children; James (Rebecca) Littlefield of St. Charles, Joseph Littlefield (fiancé Bernadette Naebers), John and Julie Littlefield both at home, a granddaughter Sophia, his parents Beverly and Dean Tollefson of Utica, brothers, Dan (Sharon) Littlefield and Don (Diedre) Littlefield, both of St. Charles. He was preceded in death by his father James Perry Littlefield. A Funeral Mass will be 11AM Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with The Reverend Kurt Farrell officiating. Cremation will follow with burial in the spring at Calvary Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call from 4-8PM Wednesday at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service in St. Charles. They also call one hour before services at the church on Thursday. Prayers will be said at 7:30 PM at the funeral home on Wednesday.
