MINNESOTA CITY, MN - Stanley G. Mann, 81, of Minnesota City, MN died on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI.
Stanley was born on September 12, 1935, in Saratoga Township of Winona County, MN to Francis and Virginia (Dent) Mann. Stanley grew up in Saratoga Township, Winona and Rushford, MN. He was a 1953 graduate of Rushford High School. He entered the U.S. Army where he served in Korea and later was a dog handler in Colorado Springs, CO. He was united in marriage with Bonnie Ferden in 1957, at Grace Lutheran Church in Peterson, MN. Stanley's career included working as a quality inspector for Lake Center Switch and Rush Products in Lewiston, Rushford and Ettrick, WI. He later worked as a courier for Merchants Bank in Winona. Stanley was a member of the Rochester Dragon Patrol of the Shriner's, the Masonic Lodge in Winona of which he was of the Scottish Rite and the York Rite. He was also a member of the Elstad Lutheran Church in rural Lanesboro, MN. Stanley was united in marriage with Marilyn Soland on February 9, 2017.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his parents, Virginia and Freddie Arnold of Rushford, MN; three children: Craig (Jennifer) Mann of Rochester, MN, Robby (Ann) Mann of Louisville, CO, and Kelly (David) Shand of Goodridge, MN; a step-daughter, Meg Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren: Lindsey (Jesse), Ashley (Nathan), Brittany and Alexander; four step-grandchildren: Betheny, Patrick, Jeremy, and Jordan; three great-grandchildren: Cameron, Taylor and Skyler; four siblings: Kenneth (Elaine) Mann of Goodview, MN; John (LeAnn) Mann of Bradenton, FL; Gail (Joseph) Bradley of Dickson, Tennessee, and Mary (Val) Gudmundson of Rushford, MN; a brother-in-law, John (Pat) Ferden of Winona, MN, and sister-in-law, Janet (Stanley) Oian of Moorhead, MN; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie, and his father.
There will be a memorial service for Stanley at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview, MN with the Rev. Luther Mathsen officiating. Burial will be at the Saratoga Cemetery in rural St. Charles, MN at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6, at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview, and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. There will be a Masonic Service at 8:00 p.m. on Monday night at Hoff Celebration of Life Center.
