Stanley Bowman, 89, died Saturday, November 27, 2010, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare in Winona, MN. Stanley was born December 12, 1920, in Lewis Lake, MN, to Eric and Christine (Mattson) Bowman. Stanley served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII and served in the European Theater. He married Shirley Faye Nesler in Minneapolis, MN, on December 30, 1945. Stanley and his wife owned and operated the General Store in Warman, MN for seven years and then moved to Altura, MN, where they helped her mother farm for seven years. They bought their own farm on Garvin Heights in 1959, where they operated a dairy farm until retiring in 1979. Stanley had also worked at Fibrite in Winona. Stanley was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Wilson, American Legion Post 9 in Winona, Teamsters, N.F.O., and had sold seed corn for 20 years.He is survived by his wife Shirley; seven children, Leon (Bridget) of Winona, Sam (Melissa) of Ardmore, OK, Tom (Charlene) of River Falls, WI, Kris (Steve) Hass of Dutton, MT, Kathy Bowman of Fountain City, WI, Karen (Darv) Pruka of Wilson, MN, and Robin (Jolaine) of Plato, MN; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ted, three sisters, Sally, Anna and Ethel, and a granddaughter, Sarah Rose Pruka.
