Sophia Allena Moe, 16 of Winona, died suddenly as the result of a motor vehicle accident on Friday, July 27, 2018.
Sophia was born February 4, 2002 in Winona to Rick and Amy Jo (Pfaff) Moe. She was looking forward to starting her junior year at Winona Senior High. Sophia was involved in many school activities - Student Council, W Club, playing clarinet in the band, soccer, track and gymnastics in her younger years. She truly loved the outdoors, especially fishing. Animals were very close to her heart and she often tried to bring strays of all kinds home; she would spend hours at the humane society with her brother, Jack - trying to convince their parents to let them bring home a new pet. She also enjoyed music and musicals, baking, drawing, hanging at the beach with her friends and most importantly just spending time with her family and friends.
Sophia was determined and if she set a goal, she wouldn't stop until that goal was met. She always wanted to help everyone in any way she could. Sophia had a heart of gold and eyes and smile that would light up a room. She touched many lives in her short time on this earth and she will be forever missed.
She is survived by her parents, Amy Jo and Rick; her brother and best friend, Jack; grandparents, Randy & Mary Jo Pfaff and Richard & Eugenia Moe; aunts and uncles, Kimberly (Mike) Smith, Brian (Mandy) Pfaff, Joe Moe, Patty (Christa Lange) Moe, Summer (Tim) Kohner, and Emily Moe; boyfriend, Riley Bosteter; and many cousins, extended family and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Hayden and her great-grandparents.
A Celebration of Sophia's life will be 4 p.m., Friday, August 3, 2018 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center - Goodview, led by Funeral Celebrant Jenny Hoff. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials will be directed to places that were close to Sophia's heart.
