HOFF FUNERAL HOMES - RUSHFORD CHAPEL 507-864-7771 PETERSON, MINN. - Siebert M. Gudmundson, 87, of Peterson, Minn. died on Wednesday, August 26, at his home. Siebert was born on January 22, 1922, in Whalan, Minn. to Sigvart and Maria (Hongerholt) Gudmundson. He grew up in the Highland and Peterson, Minn. areas. Siebert attended Flattum School in Highland, Minn. On November 10, 1945, he married June Boyum in Arendahl, Minn. June passed away in 1998. His career included farming, trucking and he worked as an A.I. technician for Tri State Breeders for more than 35 years. Siebert married Martha Ferden on May 25, 2002. He belonged to Grace Lutheran Church in Peterson, Minn., where he served on the church council, and was a past member of the Peterson School Board. Farming was his passion, especially cattle. Siebert was still driving tractor up until two weeks ago. He was looking forward to continue to help his good friend Dr. John Peterson with the cattle on his farm. Siebert loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. He is survived by his wife Martha; six children: Stan (Unchalee) Gudmundson of Rushford, Minn., Don (Merry) Gudmundson of Lakeville, Minn., Renee (Verdon) Hasleiet of Rochester, Minn. , Kathi (David Urion) Gudmundson of LaCrosse, Wis., Val (Mary) Gudmundson of Rushford, Minn., and Scott (Linda) Gudmundson of Becker, Minn.; Step-daughter, Ann (Charles) Austad of Bemidji, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers: Gordon (Lucille) Gudmundson of Sun City, Ariz., and Leroy (Evelyn) Gudmundson of Winona, Minn.; two sisters: Miranda Evjen of Rochester, Minn., and Vivian Thompson of Winona, Minn.; and by many nieces and nephews. Besides being preceded in death by his first wife June, Siebert was also preceded in death by his brother, DeLyle. The funeral service for Siebert will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, at Grace Lutheran Church in Peterson, Minn. with the Rev. Ronald Warnes officiating. Burial will be in the West Grace Lutheran Cemetery in rural Peterson. Friends may call at Grace Lutheran Church from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
