Lewiston, Shirley A. O'Neil, 69, of Lewiston died Friday evening October 14, 2005 at her home in rural Lewiston. Shirley was born March 30, 1936 in Elba to Warren and Marion (Ehlenfeldt) Hill. She grew up in the Elba area and graduated from St. Charles High School in 1953. Shirley and William N. Anderson were married in 1953. They had six children and later divorcing. On September 14, 1973 Shirley married James O'Neil of Princeton, MN and resided in Fridley until moving to Colorado in 1974. In 1977 they moved to Arlington Heights, WA. Shirley worked as a self-employed housekeeper. She retired and they moved to Lewiston in December of 2004. Survivors include her husband, Jim, five children, Renee (Tom Glover) Plass of Lewiston; Ricky (Jeanne Clark) Anderson of Winona; Kathy Hans of Lake City; Lori (Dan) Montgomery of Seattle WA and Valerie (Jeff) Bartsh of St. Charles, step children, James (Carol) O'Neil of Escondido, CA; Mary T. Bradley of Duvall, WA; Scott (Meg) O'Neil of Elkridge, MD and; Ann (Tom) Reed of Bakersfield, CA, 23 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a brother Everett (Jeannie) Hill of Plainview, four sisters, Lovilla "June" (Steven) Graves of Rochester; Marilyn (Roger) Brown of Trempealeau, WI; Beverly (Albert, Jr.) Wenzel of Winona and Darlene (Glen) Boynton of Rushford, mother-in-law Vi Healy of Belle Plaine, brother-in-laws Mike (Sharon) O-Neil of Minneapolis, Dan (Patsy) O'Neil of Henderson, MN, a sister-in-law Betty (Donnie) Howard of St. Cloud, special friends in Washington; Nina & Bill, Chris & Brad, Pat,Troy, Melissa & Walter, Donna & Clint, Rosemarie, Auggie, Brenda & Brian. Shirley was preceded in death by a son Roy Allen Anderson and a granddaughter Alecia & her parents. A Memorial Service will be at 11 AM Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Home, Lewiston Chapel with Rev. David A. Fischer of St. John's Lutheran Church of Lewiston officiating. Burial of Shirley's cremated body will follow in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Lewiston. A reception will follow services at the funeral home. Shirley was a caregiver to all. She loved her bingo & her bingo friends. Her great-grandchildren knew her as their grandma with the books. We will miss you.
