Sherrie Daun Tschumper

Sherrie Daun Tschumper, 75, of Winona, died Monday, May 23, 2011 at Lake Winona Manor surrounded by her family.Sherrie was born September 5, 1935 in Winona to Ralph Darwin and Thelma Margaret (Sheridan) Leininger. She graduated from Winona Senior High in 1954. Sherrie is a former member of the Winona Job's Daughters. After high school, she worked at KWNO, Nash's Clothing Store, NW Co-op, and Whittaker Marine. On June 22, 1957 she married Delwin Tschumper at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Winona. Sherrie was a resourceful homemaker who proudly claimed the title "Queen of Improvision". She was a mother and grandmother to many. Family was of utmost importance to her, and she enjoyed every minute of raising her four boys. Her family is so strong today because of her commitment to being a wife and mom. Sherrie was always planning picnics and other events for family entertainment so the family could spend time together.She loved teaching young people and couples what the scriptures say about living, loving, and honoring Jesus as Savior and Lord. Sherrie and her husband are members at Pleasant Valley Evangelical Free Church.Sherrie is survived by Del, her husband of 53 years; four sons, Patrick of Seattle, James (Betsy) of Rollingstone, Timothy of Winona and Thomas (Lynette) of Cedar Valley; seven grandchildren, Sean, Lucas, Bryce, Jordan, Kinsey, Austin and Katie; two sisters, Jean (Fred Jr.) Brust of Minnesota City and Lynda Krall of Winona; and many nieces and nephews.Sherrie is preceded in death by her parents.A visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service-Hansen Goodview Chapel and also one hour prior to the service at church. Funeral service will be 11am, Friday, May 27, 2011 at Pleasant Valley Evangelical Free Church in Winona with Pastor Rick Iglesias officiating.
