Severin S. Small, age 39, of Winona, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, February 5, 2014.Severin was born March 3rd, 1974 in Winona, MN to Donald Small and Paula Flemming. Severin went to Cathedral elementary in Winona during his childhood. He went to high school in Arkansas, while living with his father and later attended college at Southeast Technical College of Winona, while studying Carpentry.In his younger years, Severin enjoyed fishing, camping, playing hockey and always talked about eating his grandmothers' cookies. Severin enjoyed spending time with his family in his old Victorian house on Gilmore Avenue, while playing outside with his brother and sister. He also very much enjoyed his high school years, while living with his dad. Most recently, Severin could be found watching political shows, football and keeping track of the stock market. Although he liked to cook he enjoyed going out to eat at Chinese restaurants and Sammy's Pizza. He enjoyed listening to music, including opera music. A couple of his favorite places to visit here in Winona was Windom Park and The Minnesota City Boat Club. Severin had always dreamed of visiting Italy to see and spend time within the cathedrals, chapels, other historical architecture and surroundings of Italy.Severin loved his family. He always enjoyed spending time with his mom and dad and having special moments with his sister, Ericka. He also enjoyed his time spent with his stepdad, Darryl. Most importantly, he cherished his son, Garret and will be forever missed by his soul mate, Michelle. Severin is survived by his wife, Michelle; son, Garret; parents, Donald Small and Paula Kotlarz; brothers, Shane Sveum, Olin Small and CJ Small; sister, Ericka Small; nephews, Samuel, Efrem, Blake, and Carter; step-father; Darryl Sveum; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and his special cat, Simba.
