Sarah Golish-Turnmire

Sarah  “Sodie” Golish-Turnmire, 84, of St. Charles died Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Cottagewood Senior Living in Rochester.  Sara was born September 11, 1938 in LaCrosse, WI to Charles and Ethel (Cox) Goetz. She was raised at Pickwick, moving to Fairwater following her father’s death.   She and Roland Campbell were married.  She later married Clifford Golish on July 2, 1958, making their home in Pilot Mound. They moved to St. Charles in 1974, later returning to Pilot Mound to live in their earth home.  Clifford died in 1989.  On August 29, 1992 Sarah and Lennie Turnmire were married.  The couple lived on a hobby farm at Pilot Mound, later moving to Dover, before moving to Benson, AZ.  In 2010 they returned to St. Charles.  She operated Sodie’s decorating, painting homes, and hanging wallpaper. Lennie died January 3, 2019.

Survivors include two children, Arlie Golish and Priscilla (Roger) Koenig, eight grandchildren and their families, Mike (Laura) Golish and Brooke: Amy (John) Vangness, and Drake (Alie), Daniel and Bethany; Andy (Ali) Golish; Brandon, and Dakota Rummer, and Lillian Rummer; Katie (Scott) Schossow, and Mackenzie Schossow, and Joshua, Mackayla, Allaynna, Memphis, Knox, and Mavrick; Kim Koenig-Loth, and Kylee Loth, Devon Loth, Emily Loth, and Christopher Loth; Kandice (Justin) Gregory, and Keira; and Kellie Jo (Bob) Cramer, six siblings, Lavonne Schneider of Winona, Fredrick Goetz of Chatfield, Christine Decker of Lake City, Joyce Goetz-Malone of Jerome, Idaho, Winifred (Richard) Unnasch of Chatfield, and Dennis Goetz of Winona, and a sister-in-law, Arlene Golish of Winona. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roland, Clifford and Lennie, a son, Edward Golish, and a brother Charles Goetz.

Services to remember Sarah will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles with the Reverend Sarah Walker Brown of Pilot Mound Lutheran Church officiating.
