Sandra Wood

Sandra Jean Wood, 67 of Winona, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Sandi was born September 25, 1956 in Winona to Arthur and Grace (Golt) Schroetke. She graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1975. On September 27, 1980, she married James “Jim” Wood at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. Sandi spent her entire career at Lake Center Switch.

Sandi was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. Whether it be, Mich Goldens with olives with her best friend, Debi, monthly outings with her sisters and cousins or monthly road trips with Jim and Dawn May, just to name a few. She also enjoyed a good margarita, dinner at Sullivans, and playing cards. However, her grandkids were the light of her life and she treasured time spent with them. 

She is survived by her husband, Jim; two daughters, Nicole and Lyndsay (Joe Vessels); grandchildren, Ayvah Banicki and Aiden & Maliah Vessels; sisters, Kay (Joe) Kronebusch and Mic (Larry) Armitage; sisters-in-law, Pam Schroetke and Sue Schroetke; nieces and nephews, Wendy (Bryan) Ruberg, Tony (Faith) Wood, Angela (Shane) Casperson, Travis Armitage, Amy (Corey) Schultz, Tanya (Steve) Kleinschmidt, Melissa (Kris) Ruud, Jason (Nicole) Kronebusch, Shannon, Ashley, Beth & Allison Schroetke and Tyler (Chrissy) Armitage; as well as many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Peter & Paul Schroetke and her mother and father-in-law, Donald and Margaret Wood and sister-in-law, Nadine Wood.
