Sadie J. Essmann

Lewiston, Sadie J. Essmann was taken to her home in heaven on July 24, 2005 at the age of 98 years, one month and 14 days. Born in Lewiston, Minnesota on June 10, 1907 she was the daughter of William and Marie (Rausch) Rusert and lived most of her life in Lewiston. She was baptized into the Christian faith at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Lewiston by Pastor Krause and confirmed her faith in her Savior in that same church by Pastor Herwig. Sadie graduated from Lewiston High School in 1926 and was married on September 4, 1929 to Alvin P. Essmann. He departed this life on October 31, 1976. Sadie was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women's Missionary Society. She is survived by three sons, Rev. Harold (Ruth) Essmann of Appleton, WI; Wayne (Sharon) Essmann of Marshall, WI, Lloyd Essmann of Albuquerque, NM; one daughter, Phyliss (Dean) Kaump of Ocala, FL, ten grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, as well as 16 great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Alvin, she was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be conducted at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Lewiston, Minnesota on Wednesday July 27th at 2 PM with the Pastors David A. Fischer and Michael A. Lindemann officiating. Burial will take place in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Lewiston. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 10 AM until 2 PM. Hoff Funeral Home's - Lewiston Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
