Ruth L. Thiewes

Ruth L. Thiewes, 87, died Sunday, July 30, 2006, at Winona Community Memorial Hospital in Winona, MN. Ruth was born November 23, 1918, in Winona, MN, to Frank and Rose (Clayton) Thiewes. Ruth worked for Merchants National Bank in Winona and also worked for many years in the Book Store at Winona State University. Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winona. Ruth is remembered for her love of visiting with family and friends and being an avid Vikings fan.Ruth is survived by her sister-in-law, Marian Thiewes of Winona, MN; three nephews, Ron (Barb) Thiewes of Kansas City, MO, Harry (Ann) Thiewes of Mankato, MN and Jim (Patty) Thiewes of Chaska, MN; great nieces and nephews, Joe, Mary Beth, Emily, Micah, Katie, Philip and Eric; and great-great nieces and nephew, Veronica, Eve and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Harold.A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2006, at 11:00am at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Tribute in Goodview with funeral celebrant John Wagenaar officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
